Another Vox article also asked the question around when COVID will end - The answer was that the horse has fled barn on this one and that, 1.) 40-70% of the world will get infected within 1 yr, 2.) COVID will end up becoming the new seasonal common cold. The key reasons they find is that containment was the only scenario to end COVID .Since the virus can be "silent" in individuals and still spread & global testing rollout is slower, it's pretty much over now for containment (https://t.co/naHVVBFR3L?amp=1) .... Merkel seems to have come to the same conclusion...
