  1. It is not unfathomable or surprising that people may ask this question. Many people don't understand why reservations are necessary in India, at least till India becomes a solid middle income economy with equitable wealth distribution. The logic of exams not being holistic and longitudinal assessment of individuals is also a good argument (along with the diversity one).
