Jake, regarding the mobile phone situation in Russia, besides Russia possibly benefitting from mobile network or phone shutdown to prevent spread of information during the next wave of mobilization, the foreign network providers that had been operating in Russia, ceased at the end of December. There may be an actual technical reason why Russia mobile phones might become useless,if not necessarily bricked at the handset. If Russia isn't able to pick up the slack due to software or tech sanctions issues or the lost expertise then some networks may go down. The added benefit for Putin is that Russia still gets to blame foreign companies, with some legitimacy, for the Russian lockdown on mobile communications.

When some content creators, analysts, or just normal people commenting say "Russians aren't that stupid and only answer polls a certain way to avoid being persecuted for going against what is known to be the 'right' answer", vids like the Russian mobilized artillerymen asking Putin to correct the assignment and not send them to infantry show that these people REALLY are that stupid or ignorant. It's like how the North Koreans are so brainwashed and indoctrinated from birth to think that their leaders have their best interests at heart The Russians are actually worse, imo, because they CAN find out the truth of the matter. They just choose to believe Father Putin instead of any other information. This also includes stupid, ignorant Russian sheep believing Father Putin instead of THEIR OWN RELATIVES IN UKRAINE. Yes, Russians really are that stupid.
