Societal memory is only about 60 to 80 years long, or about 1 generation. Even though the history is available, the lessons must, apparently, be learned first hand.

It's not like we import anything in the US... Oh. Wait.

Not to say Perun is better than a Ukranian general, but he might be more objective and not have an agenda. His research showed Russia is on pace to exhaust the Soviet equipment inheritance by the end of 2025 in most categories (field artillery being a notable exception). Technically, Russia will never "run out" of equipment because they will always have whatever they build today available tomorrow. However, Russian new build numbers are a pittance compared to the current burn rate. Also, as equipment becomes less available, it will also be less used. We're already seeing this effect. So, that may tend to extend the time until the Soviet inheritance is used up but it also means, related to the Ukrainian general's statement, "Russia can fight for 2 years with the Soviet equipment inheritance but they're going to be fielding less and less of it at a time."

14:45 We tried sticking our heads in the sand during WWII. America withdrawing from the wold is bad for America. It allows our geopolitical enemies to replace us.

I just hope Trump has realized Putin is a "loser" and no longer fanboys over Putin. Certainly Trump, a winner, wouldn't want to help a loser.

Someone pointed out the fact that in order to actually hit the cable instead of just have the anchor bouncing off the bottom, the length of chain let out would be calculated for water depth and ship speed.

@JohnMaxGriffin The Biden administration was preventing the UK and France from allowing strikes into Russia even though those 2 countries were OK with it.

Also Churchill: the Americans can always be trusted to do the right thing...but only after exhausting all other possibilities.

19:18 wow, I read that somewhere and thought it was made up. Why the Russians don't just turn their weapons on the people dropping them off or surrender to Ukraine is beyond comprehension.
