Yet, here we are further delaying one of the few longer range weapons systems that has been authorized for Ukraine. I'm more cynical. I suspect that despite the GLSDB already being funded, release to Ukraine is being delayed due to Ukraine pointing out that if Western aid dries up, it will be forced to attack targets inside Russia. Ukraine needs those weapons to keep pressure up through the winter in order to prevent Russia getting another free pass to redeploy massive minefields.

19:52 the other benefit is that this is essentially training for operations against electricity and heat and other infrastructure targets should Western aid be reduced and Ukraine is forced to put a cost on the war for Russian civilians in hopes of ending Putin from within.

If commanders don't report troops captured then the commander can still collect the soldier's pay and his unit looks better in readiness reports. Russian corruption and "Vranye" at its best.
