Trump won't want to make a deal with a US. Putin's evil villain arc really got going when George Dubya Bush completely blew off and ignored Russia when Putin warned Bush to not invade Iraq after 9/11. Making a deal with another US president, one whom Putin held such contempt for that he brought an attractive female translator to meetings as a distraction for Trump, would be insulting to delusional Putin.

Bronco Bama, during the the 2014 Russian invasion of Ukraine, was focused on the mythical "Russian Reset" more than Ukraine's plight. We tried being weak and self deterring. Biden was having his natural peacenik tendency (Biden, as VP, was against the raid that got Osama) encouraged and reinforced by de facto Russian agent, Biden's National Security advisor, Jake Sullivan. Maybe we're finally going to to the right thing now that Ukraine has been fighting for its freedom and peace, for 3 years.

Imagine if someone suggested we just let it go that Al Qaeda committed the 9/11 attacks. Ukrainian CIVILIANS have been undergoing such attacks almost NIGHTLY for 3 years in every major city.

@kdiigx sure Zalensky is willing to make a deal, but he's a harder and stronger man than Trump. Zalensky isn't going to settle for toothless security guarantees (such as the many Russia has violated since 1992) involved in any peace negotiations brokered by the West. Russia still has 10s of THOUSANDS of children that were kidnapped from Ukraine by Russia.
