  2. It stinks that the West hasn't provided Ukraine with enough of the required types of weapons and equipment to make staying in Ukraine untenable for Russian forces. This has led to Ukraine needing to call up more men to feed the training pipeline ahead of next year's attempts to dislodge Russians or defend Ukraine if Western aid isn't supplied sufficiently. However, while having more troops means more men at risk, having more men available means lower overall casualty rates as it's less likely that positions will be overrun by Russian zombie waves. It also means that troops on the front can be rotated out as replacements are trained and worked into units for operational experience. The reason Ukraine has to call up more troops is because Western democracies don't really value our own freedom as much as we think. As such, we're not willing to send enough equipment to Ukraine while Ukraine is fighting the Russian invasion of Europe.
