  1. The longer the war goes on, the more likely #4 becomes since Russia isn't the homogeneous society they'd like the west to believe. The elite in Moscow treat much of Russia the way Putin views Ukraine, as something to be used to benefit the elite in Moscow. Americans don't have perspective to understand the level of political corruption in Russia.
