Putin is balls deep into Sunk Cost Fallacy. Once he declared the Ukrainian territories part of Russia, he closed the doors for calling the SMO complete and leaving Ukraine. Now, Putin can't politically afford to lose the war. Howe, he can't economically afford to win, either because war spending is the only thing popping up the Russian economy.

@Dreadnote-pf7of you realize that you're essentially arguing elections in Belarus SHOULDN'T be free and fair "because he's going to win anyway." If he's going to win anyway, that EVEN MORE reason to just have free and fair elections, right?! Yet, no free elections AND Russian tanks enter Belarus to quell election protests. Hmmm...
