  2. Lake or Rand are still my two favorite VP picks. They have a lot more of the MAGA spirit and Lake in particular has Trump style energy. I'm not particularly fond of an in-between olive Branch at this point, which unfortunately DeSantis is increasingly turning out to be, whether he is compromised or not.

  3. I think it's about a 50/50 shot at this point. Given to DeSantis' actions in the last few months I have a feeling that he is not strategically that intelligent and is actually quite impulsive when it comes to dealing with a sizeable political adversary (potential or current). He needs to have people around him willing to tell him no and keep telling him no. You are right he will destroy his career if he does this. He could be elected to a Florida Congress or Senate position but he might forfeit his future POTUS ambitions by default.

  4. It would be a sad thing to see but it might happen if he does this. Unfortunately my suspicions were more confirmed with that speech bill. I cannot justifiably vote for him in 2028 unless he backpedals hard on that issue.

  5. I knew but politics is more of a major interest of mine unlike most people. The average person outside of South Carolina probably doesn't know much about him if they knew about him at all. They might be able to list his skin color and that's about it.

  7. I do not even think he is on Trump's shortlist. There are a bunch of people that would be better suited that he gets along with more. If you wanted a black man for diversity he would try Elder. If he want to do woman he would go for Lake or Noem. Ramaswamy even would do better than Scott and achieve the same tick box.

Depending on how well they get along personally and how the primaries go, he might have him slated on a short list. I tend to think business leaders generally enjoy each other's intellectual company, so there's a good chance they might actually get along in a way that others would not understand, because most people are not business leaders. Those alpha mentality personalities actually get pretty lonely if they don't have people around with the same personalities.

  13. I think at this point his thing is a cabinet position or maybe a book deal. This one looks to be pretty self-serving. Taking votes from DeSantis would just be one of the many effects.

  14. ​ @Doc_Holiday  it is basically a hate speech bill. Loose language, very slippery slope. Perfect for the left to use against his political enemies and quite frankly just anti first amendment in general. They cast it off as an anti-Semitism bill, but it has a very wide range. I don't believe in the idea of hate crimes. I don't believe in prosecuting based on motive, only for actions. I also think that the first Amendment includes the right to offend which unfortunately includes offensive speech.

  15. Which in turn makes it worse for DeSantis should he bite the bullet and join in. I hope he has surrounded himself with sane people willing to tell him not to run at the risk of f**** his entire future career outside of Florida. However I also have a feeling that's DeSantis is strategically not that smart given his record over the last few months. Hopefully he has someone who actually has enough sway in his inner circle to prevent him from driving drunk politically speaking.
