I think given everything that's happening in the country plus the likely recession coming he will probably went over the independents just because they realize how much better it. Trump is about 1 or 2% away from 50% independent approval already. Unfortunately for us a recession is probably going to increase the likelihood of trump winning and overpowering a honking.

The problem with that is that nobody wins with just their own party vote anymore. The Republican vote has shrunk a little bit and the Democrat vote has shrunk quite a bit more. The Independents vote is growing in the independence typically vote with the economy. There will probably be no more Democrats voting than there were in the previous election, and honestly the odds are there will be less just based on the fact that even if they don't like Trump, they don't want to cast a vote for Biden. A lot of the Democrat voters kind of hate Biden's guts and have been turned off by the very idea of voting at this point. I think the spite vote in favor of Trump probably will be a big upswing. I think he is going to win the independent voters. He is already one or two percent away from 50% as we speak, and that is pre-recession. There is going to be a deep recession. At this point I don't think Trump losses without being honked again, and is going to be five times harder to honk at successfully if there is a recession, and expect to get away with it yet again. So many fewer will buy it. I think their best chance to avoid failing to honk 2024 successfully is to stop him in the primaries, because if they don't there is a 50-50 chance they aren't able to stop him in the general.

@🍄The Shaman from within 🍄 I would generally agree with you, however not voting does not get that result, it would just ensure that there is one giant blue donkey and no elephant. I think we need a multi-party system.
