But not telling the mom why he's being arrested? Not letting her ride with her child? He is a MINOR and that means the laws are different with him. The officer is the one free to make a judgement call about what the situation entails, depending on the severity of the infraction and how reasonable the child and their parent/guardian are being. The child and his mom here seemed very reasonable and polite, she was angry and he was scared but they just wanted to do what they needed to do to resolve the matter. The officers didn't seem to want to provide any help or assistance to make this easy for either of them... and that IS something they can do even if they have to make the arrest.
