Sad. Sad stuff. Why? Because most of those children we witnessed in this piece, if living, are still preaching the same things as their interviewed forefathers once declared, now, nearly fifty years….later.
Ninety percent after “independence,” but the dependence on weed replaces dem strength. So the interviewed father’s son, young “Nesta” da prophet, still proclaims the lasting legacy of this tragic land:
Welcome to Jamrock…Out in the streets they call it murder…Come on let's face it, a ghetto education's basic
And most ah de youths them waste it; And when dem waste it, that's when dem take the guns replace it; Then dem don't stand a chance at all…Welcome to Jamrock; Out in the streets they call it murder” (Songwriters: Damian Robert Nesta Marley / Ini Kamoze / Stephen Marley; Welcome to Jamrock lyrics © Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC, Universal Music Publishing Group).
Absolutely horrible. Extremely sad to watch for this dark skinned viewer.🥺😞😢😭😭😭!
