Comments by "Cary Black" (@caryblack5985) on "Pavlov's House & Paulus' 2nd Offensive | BATTLESTORM STALINGRAD E25" video.
The original idea was that the Kotluban offensives would break through and join the 62nd Army in Stalingrad. When these offenses failed they started planning Uranus to surround the Germans. They needed time to conscript, train and arm troops and so the middle of Nov. was when it was supposed to begin. They sent reinforcements to the city but wanted the vast majority for the counteroffensive.

If you read Isaev Stalingrad City On Fire he goes into much detail on the Kotluban offenses as does Glantz.

The Germans had air supremacy over Stalingrad. It did not change till Nov 1942. The Soviet air force tried but were outclasses by the more experienced Germans.

@tancreddehauteville764 Take a look at this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_atrocities_committed_against_Soviet_prisoners_of_war

@tancreddehauteville764 Then I would suggest you follow up with the list of sources listed in their bibliography. If you have any sources that you consider better please list them for me.

They were mostly covering how the Soviets were holding out, fighting for every yard of ground. fighting till the end.

Hitler knew something was not going right. I don't know exactly what he knew but in the Vinnitsa conference on Sept. 12 before the city fighting Halder and Weichs were saying they city would be captured in 10 days. Paulus did not support that and asked for 3 fresh divisions which he did not get but got the 4th Panzer Army. Now the fighting has been going on for 2 weeks and only half the city is captured. This should give Hitler or anybody else the idea things are not going to plan. On the other hand on Sept 28 and 30 Hitler gave public speeches that claimed Stalingrad would soon be in German hands. He was totally committed to capturing Stalingrad and now he would be unlikely to admit defeat or allow withdrawal since he would look foolish.

@alexhodskins8426 The German attack to relieve Stalingrad was Winter Storm

Have not seen any information on this. What is your thoughts?

@AlanDeAnda1 I believe that the size of the Volga, a very large river and the the large number of Soviet troops on the east bank was what discouraged the Germans ever to make a fighting river crossing and it was never in their planning. They hoped to control the west bank at Stalingrad and also block transport of oil coming up the Volga from the Caucasus.

@AlanDeAnda1 When the Soviets launched their counterattack it was not over the Volga. The North pincer crossed the Don river which was much narrower then the Volga and the southern pincer had troops did not have to cross a river in order to attack since they were already well west of the Volga when they attacked.

The 6th army diary survived and maybe the divisional diaries. There were many memoirs and the Soviets did after action reports and the Soviet Army diaries survived. There were many letters of the German soldiers even those in the pocket that are quoted in a number of books.

To be a Jew can mean all of these or some of these things you mentioned. The Nazis however only considered them a "race".

They were in such bad shape with no air force and bottom of the barrel troops and much of their land occupied that it would have been next to impossible.
