  1. Becomes less tragic in this case when most of the problems are self-inflicted. Hitler's woes, real and imagined, were brought about by his own laziness and massive ego. He spent his whole life being a parasite, thus, I don't pity him. He should have tried harder in school and he should have tried to get a job. His mother's pampering didn't help, but he made his choices. Had she been stricter with him, things might have turned out differently. Hell, he only got into the German Army because the file stating he was medically unfit got lost. Were it not for that, he would have eventually starved on the streets of Vienna (or Munich), which would have, again, been entirely his own fault due to his laziness and pride.

  2. Some things you missed: 1) Hitler fled Austria to avoid conscription, but was caught and drafted, only to be let go during the processing stage after being declared unfit to serve. He then moved to Germany and, his pride wounded, signed up with the German Army. His lack of fitness should have barred him, but a careless mix-up of paperwork allowed him to join. 2) Hitler's army unit regarded him with contempt, both for his habit of sucking up to the brass and his clear mental instability. After he wrote "Mein Kampf", several of them tried to point out that a lot of his claims were BS, only to be sued by the Nazis for slander.

  4. Adolf did himself no favours by being naturally inclined towards laziness. That single factor led to many, many problems down the line.

  5. ​@sarahudson108 And Hitler stubbornly refused to do that. He never matured, remaining childish, (incredibly) lazy, and arrogant to the end.
