  2. I see people here trying to defend Goebbels. Here's the thing: he had his wife bring his children to Berlin for the express purpose of killing them once the war was lost. They had several chances to evacuate their children from the capital before it was too late, but they refused out of blind fanaticism. "They belong to the Fuhrer," Goebbels said of his children, a sentiment his wife shared. In the end, they killed their children not to keep them from being killed by the Soviets, but to "protect" therm from living in a Germany without Hitler and his Nazi thugs.

  5.  @m.r4841  His party got into the Reichstag, yes, but they didn't have a majority. Under pressure from his son and the conservatives who thought they could use Hitler as a puppet, Hindenburg appointed him to the chancellorship. Hitler did not win at the ballot box.
