  1. i had not thought of the fresh water reserves; We should do a deal, secure a peace for Taiwan by making its importance to the Chinese less. Lots less. China would do well, Taiwan would do well and could relax a bit, and the West would do well by avoiding having to defend Taiwan. Besides, we'll be divvying up Russia anyway.

  2. Can't we do a deal with China? "We will back you in taking Outer Manchuria , and you will leave Taiwan alone". ...And, maybe they would. Outer Manchuria with its own Pacific Access, large area, and untapped resources has no physical boundary ( like an Ocean ) between it and China. There are not millions of people holding the land prepared to die for it, it's all but empty. Russians ineptitude. Maybe, once we've divvied up Russia and shared it amongst its long suffering neighbors, East and West can get on with getting on.   5. i'm stunned by America's 'John Wayne Syndrome'. How hard is it to understand for yous. Your fathers and mothers grew up in a culture where a popular icon carried a gun and everyone understood it was OK to kill a man if he was 'yeller'. Yous came home from school, and on TV you watched "Combat" - guns, bombs, killing with Bugs Bunny on afterwards. And you learned it was OK to kill a man if he was a Jap or a Kraut. Yous grew up in a violent racist hate filled society - and now, you gun mad bastards can't protect your kids. Staggeringly stupid.
