  1. expensive engagement rings are a scam anyway. Just get something cheap and sparkly, - I got a vintage silver ring with a small lapislazuli stone that cost about 80€ and still said yes. If you are going into a relationship with financial expectations, it´s already doomed to fail the very moment your husband loses his job or becomes ill. Also if it´s just an exchange of money against intimacy, then why should men not go to a professional instead of getting married?
