  1. No the joke is calling his opponent a carpet bagger in a northern state. He also misses that carpet baggers were a significant driving force behind reconstruction as they were private individuals who were sending aid and money not the Federal Government which as always was slow to respond.

  2. I am a dog lover but to me animal testing is something you shouldn't be opposing wholesale. It is a complicated issue but the main reasons we do tests on dogs and other animals is because testing a potientially dangerous new substance on a human first would be even worse. And there is no realistic alternative unless you want to have no testing on any medicenes or treatments at all and just let the public consume without knowing of the risks.

  6. You what is shocking is that this isn't the first time the Dems tried to cover up a stroke. Woodrow Wilson had a stroke in his second term while he was travelling the country. He was basically out of power for the rest of his second term and his wife was the de-facto acting president. I find that last part funny because if the Democrats decided to expose the truth, they could have boasted they already allowed for the first woman to be President.

  7. Not really FDR had Polio through his unprecedented 4 terms as President. That isn't an issue. What is an issue is cogniative decline like what happens from a stroke.

  10. Which were not the same thing as the German camps. Concentration camps meant something very differently back then. Germany used the term as a euphemism to hide the atrocities they were committing in them as at the time, it was term that was used also for POW camps and even refugee camps.

  13.  @apoorhorseabusedbycenk  Stalin took Poland after Roosevelt died and his replacement was in office so you can’t blame him. Also income tax was a thing before FDR. Lincoln introduced his own income tax.

Also you have no clue what you are talking about when it comes to the concept of the enemy of my enemy which was World War II in a nutshell and you are trying to pin the consequences on him when he was dead before the war was even over.

  17. Everyone did that during World War II and this isn't the same as what the Germans did. Also it was mostly the Generals who convinced him to do it. Plus it was a move supported by the citizens of the time so don't your presentism BS into the argument.

  18. He did lead us through World War II and he was doing what he could do at the time without becoming a total tyrant. He understood you couldn't solve economic problems by basically printing money or having the state control the economy at all levels so he just did enough to fix the issues that led to the Great Depression. You also had to keep in mind part of the reason the Depression lasted so long was because some of the New Deal policies were supposed to be a two-way street requiring at a minimum amount of spending by the State Government to get the beneifits and since there were Democrats in his own party who hated him that wasn't always guaranteed.
