  2.  @vullings1968  Because the EU CAP is a high price fixing system protected by anti-competitive SM non-tariff regulations and CU tariffs. Not rocket science. But the Barlaymont propaganda unit spreads disinformation about non-EU food production and processing to pretend that CAP produce is some how better or the alternatives allegedly below standard. US beef and chicken is better and cheaper thanks to GM, unlike the insane EU policy of stuffing animals full of anti-biotics. The most laughable opposition to US chicken produce is to the method of cleaning carcasses with chlorinated water which is exactly what is demanded by the CAP for other EU produce. The better quality lower priced non-EU alternatives are making inroads into the UK EU imports balance of trade, to UK advantage even within the UK's more relaxed regime but not fully implemented Brexit arrangements. But of course you know all of this.
