Russia has 'lost' the war in the sense it did not totally overwhelm Kyiv -Ukraine and Donbass. It is a stalemate like Korea.

@georgieboy1958 You mean like it took over in three days and crushed the UA outside Kyiv? Or that it took eight months to secure Donbass and North coast of Azov? That the Russians had to withdrew from above the Don? That it has lost troops at three to one? Strange sort of victory .

@theincrement4898 Clearly you are very, very confused and fall for some fantasy. The Ukraine took back only the Right Bank of the Don, that was last year. Yes, it was a great success. Ukraine has exhausted its reserves and indeed most of its materiel. Russia cannot gain any more significant territory and has now created a huge in depth defensive position. The law of numbers in military tactics id that Russia is not fazed by losing men at a rate of 5 to 1 but have more than that to always outnumber the Ukraine until it is bled dry. We saw this during the Bakhmut battles, reinforcing failure and accepting any casualty total to gain a tiny position. That is STALEMATE.
