  1. I had the same experience whenever I quietly asked an EU supporter to sell the EU to me. I was genuinely interested to hear the case, 'I support the EU because (a), (b), (c), (d)'. I never heard anything like this, only explosions of anger and accusations of xenophobia, ignorance and worse.

  3. However, I think Trump was right about China, right about NATO, right about the UN, right about the WHO, right about immigration, right about borders. He was totally wrong about anthropogenic global warming, being scientifically illiterate, wrong about abortion, and wrong about negotiating with the Taliban. I'm not sure about the rights and wrongs of tearing up the anti-nuclear treaty with Iran. I would have thought that anything that stopped Iran from having nuclear weapons must be a good thing, but a lot of people said it was a bad treaty.
