Hey Lewis, can you please research & advocate for full intellectual property (IP) abolition? This is the most important activist aim for working class people! A just economy (& most leftist projects) has very little chance without first abolishing IP. IP is the most severe & oppressive tool of the rich & powerful. Please see the work of Stephan Kinsella, Michele Boldrin, & David K. Levine. These are the best experts on intellectual property in the world. Everyone who cares about seriously improving things for humanity needs to know what IP abolition is about.

@suddenuprising As for incentive to invent anything, it’s ridiculous to believe that a monopoly is needed to incentivize people invent anything. There are countless other incentives, financial and non-financial.

All 4 types of IP must be fully abolished ASAP: patents, copyright, trademarks & trade secrets

The 2008 economics book ‘Against Intellectual Monopoly’ and the 2001 essay ‘Against Intellectual Property’ are both as important as Marx’s ‘Capital’! Each has nearly flawless argumentation. All leftists need to read both (free online). If you can’t read them now, then write down both titles so you can tell others so they can read them

@mri8517 A real live human one, there’s some good info I’m sharing here if you haven’t read my comments

@suddenuprising Well it’s impossible to steal an idea in the first place. The word ‘steal’ in terms of IP is just a major part of the corporate propaganda campaign to keep power away from the working class, artists & inventors. If you painted a masterpiece on a canvass, someone could steal your physical canvass & that would be bad. But it’s impossible to steal an abstract idea.

IP laws make no sense from either left or right politics. The ‘property’ in intellectual property is a false term used for propaganda purposes. Intellectual property is not property in any sense. It’s monopoly. IP actually stifles innovation & creativity. IP also is the main component of cultural control, propaganda, and advertising. And IP seriously screws up our economy & stacks it for the rich & powerful more than any other tool (especially IP with digital tech and the internet). IP abolition is the most important aim to liberate artists, programmers, inventors, etc. and make them all better off financially

@suddenuprising I see you’re likely right wing- IP is still illogical under right wing ideology unless you have the most authoritarian, pro-monopoly fascist ideology. IP is one of the most fascistic legal complexes. Have you thoroughly read the two texts I mentioned in my 3rd reply at the top? You’ll probably change your mind after. You shouldn’t be making public judgments about the importance of IP abolition before you have the knowledge about IP.

And Uniquenameosaurus has two excellent and entertaining videos from April 2021 about IP abolition.

Also, as the author you can always ask for donations with crowdfunding even if you no longer have the copyright-monopoly.

@azzor4134 I’m doing what I want to do, all the info I want to educate people about is in my comments. Everyone should be advocating for full IP abolition. I don’t want to make videos on it yet myself because I have personal projects I want to complete first before I dedicate myself to this cause publicly by making videos, etc.. Anyways, the knowledge & resources I want to share is basically all in my comments

@mri8517 Bot or not, it’s still important info that shouldn’t be ignored

@suddenuprising As for countries stealing IP from another, it’s actually the reverse. A country without IP laws would be able to freely use all the IP that are monopolized in countries with those laws. This is another reason why IP abolition can happen soon, we just need 1 or 2 advanced countries to abolish all IP, then other countries will likely follow

@suddenuprising Allow me to help clear up what IP actually is. We need to educate all leftists about this essential point: IP is not property in any sense. 99% of the leftists I’ve come across don’t yet understand this. Broadly, intellectual ‘property’ are government granted monopolies that ban everyone else from using their own property, and matter in general, in particular ways. So IP is clearly not property or even capital. IP is monopoly over everyone else’s own property. So IP is way worse than property, commodities, capital or any means of production: IP is anti-property.

@suddenuprising You’re not discussing in good-faith. I already explained this to you: IP is illogical under the vast majority of political ideologies. IP is still illogical under right wing ideology unless you have the most authoritarian, pro-monopoly fascist ideology. IP is one of the most fascistic legal complexes.

@Barklord Good points. There’s no such thing as giving up an invention. It’s physically impossible. You can try to be greedy & hide it from people, but if people can see it & want to copy it then why should you even try to stop them? Wouldn’t that be against the sharing of knowledge & education for the human race? That’s very unethical in my view

@cv4809 Your premises in your question are false and thus it is literally impossible for me to answer your question. IP abolition does not mean that inventors won’t be rewarded or profit off inventions. In fact, IP abolition likely means individual inventors will be paid more as businesses will less likely commandeer inventions as their own under the guise of “work for hire”. IP is just monopoly: I already explained this above. Please read my comments

@suddenuprising It’s clear to me that you want to engage in eristic with me. I don’t- I prefer to only do dialectical method argumentation. You and everyone here needs to look up the difference between eristic and dialectical method on wikipedia, it takes 2 minutes. Don’t waste your life away doing eristic when you can do actual argumentation and learn the best knowledge with others. I’m not interested in discussing this here with you anymore. I genuinely wish you the best though

@suddenuprising Just research IP. You clearly don’t know the particulars on how it functions, so your conclusions are also false.

@paigetomkinson1137 Copying is not immoral. You have to think about it logically and carefully- strip yourself of cultural propaganda.

@paigetomkinson1137 I have a ploylest of the best vedeos on IP on my chinnil if you’re interested.
1
@paigetomkinson1137 I urge you to think more thoroughly about this. We should do what’s ethically best for everyone, and IP abolition is at the top of the list.

@paigetomkinson1137 I have a ploylest of the best vedeos on IP on my chinnil, which is an excellent place to start.
