We're probably going to have to go BSD, or create a whole new kernel alternative to linux, and an opensource alternative to whatever this leftist cringe stuff is. Make Opensource and Unix Great Again!

@mwdiers yeah, but Linus himself has repeated similar woke stuff. Who knows how long until the Linux Foundation goes off the rails?

@mwdiers - it can, especially if they stop doing updates on the kernel, or they choose to make the kernel available to a select group of people. We're not dealing with rational people here that are willing to share the sandbox anymore.

@robotron1236 - that hasn't stopped people from saying screw the legalities, especially when they think they are socially just to do so, not to mention believe they are fighting literally very bad people that rhyme with Yahtzee. Not to mention the Summer of Love that was 2020 burning down cities, taking over blocks of cities and claiming them as independent socialist nations, causing billions of dollars in property damage, and being the fault for nearly three dozen deaths, excluding the usual weekend murders of Chicago.

@mwdiers - They're already starting to abandon it. IBM/REHL doesn't particularly follow it. Just as the leftist mind virus has redefined 'inclusive' to mean including people until they decide not to, one of the GPL's core concepts of respect the freedom of others appears to be getting redefined by the woke mind virus as respect the freedom of others until they decide not to. How is Linus going to be able to do anything when he's agreeing with the people that are taking this attitude and pushing everyone out of Linux that don't follow lock step with the woke left? He pretty much already is one of them. Regardless Linux or licencing, the Linux Foundation puts very little of interest in the kernel, which should be their prime reason for existing. So I wouldn't plan on Linux being around in 5 to 10 years if things continue to progress the way they are.
