  1. Had a WW2 tell me the same thing at a Legion. I asked him what he did in that war . He said he was a cook. I told him I was a paratrooper ( 173rd) ,wounded twice, tunnel rat when necessary and to kiss my ass. It was over 40 yrs before I joined the Legion and VFW. I quit the Legion as my post were all non combat, peacetime , liberals. I went to a place where I fit in.

  4.  @teddylong2167  interesting comment. The reason I say that is there are plenty of funny stories which come out of war ( or time in the service if you prefer ). I was with the 173rd airborne brigade, wounded twice ,tunnel rat when necessary and focus on the good times I had as there were many even in the jungle where I was most of the time.   5. As a 23 yr retired Army guy and Vietnam combat vet I agree with so much of what he said. I detested Walter Cronkite for deciding in his liberal mind that we “ lost “ the war. Approximately 40k NVA and VC died during Tet. They were decimated. And it is true that so many are followers not leaders especially in civilian life. We were also not allowed to really fight the war as those in charge were using conventional tactics in a guerrilla war. To be fair every combat vet has his opinion like this guy does but he does it so eloquently. I was blessed that I served with the 173rd Airborne Brigade which was one of the finest units there. But we lost hundreds of troopers who died using poor tactics .

  9.  @DavidHoffmanFilmmaker  you missed my point ,it was Cronkite calling those shots which fired up the kids at home. We were too busy fighting to care about winning or losing in your terms.
