  2. When the wifi is turned off through settings, even if it's just in theory, the fact is that the tracking activities can carry on. They probably do; even with the software toggle it's possible that they're still making lists of nearby routers and blasting probes containing your mac address out into the world at various intervals. In the end when you've toggled your switch how do you know it's off? Are you monitoring it with software defined radio or just trusting that it's off because the pixels say they're off...
