+/Dream Car Garage 1 (DCG1) Blame Audi's launch control then lol. Only thing that happened with that drag race is that the 911s launch control launched it better than Audi's.

+karlmalone11 There was no jump start, watch a little more carefully with a little less bias and you'll see that.

vivalaphill Okay, you're right, the Porsche had a split second jumpstart, probably due to human error (newsflash, people aren't perfect!). You could have had Fernando Alonso in one car and Sebastian Vettel in the other, and the launch could still be imperfect at 0.25 speed. Point is, the Porsche beat the R8 by more than what the jumpstart gave to the Porsche. The fact that the Porsche jumpstarted that fraction of a fraction of a second is invalid.

+Leopard95 If it were dry, the Porsche would have been able to utilize more of its torque to pull itself out of corners, in addition to taking advantage of the extra grip due to its rear weight bias.

+BeBarnee Thats rather contradictory seeing as the GT4 and the GT3 lineup has arguably even less faults than the Turbo and Carrera lineup. Theyre incredibly reliable, well built, well engineered, and whatever the GTs lose in comfort, they make up for double in performance and excitement. Id wager a bet youve never actually owned a car thats exciting in this way, because what people look for in a special car isnt faults, its excitement. Nobody buys an Alfa Romeo, or Ferrari, or Lamborghini because of all its faults, its because of the excitement and driving experience.

+She Swallowed It Ok, you're right!! Instead of beating the R8 but one car length, it'll be it by 3/4 of a car length. Jesus christ, not all cars launch the same. Some cars' launch control system forces a roll, unlike the immediate launch of the Turbo S.

Leopard95 Okay, thanks for just repeating the shit you said before without any reasoning behind it, therefore wasting everyone's time.

John Jerrehian You can barely even consider that a rolling start. It just simply didn't put its power down as well as the 911 from the get go, making it seem like it was lagging behind.

+vivalaphill There was no jumpstart, the 911 just launched better.

vivalaphill And? The Audi would have still lost this 1/4 mile drag race. Face it, as great as your beloved Audi is, it's not the fastest car in the world.

vivalaphill lol

@dlg78 But it's not an arbitrary distance...it's a standard distance race that is almost universally used in testing.
