  1. A lot of the economy is built on house prices. No Government will deal with that, they love the prices rising.

  2. Greenbelt land. Posh folks keep their house prices higher by restricting the building on it. Lack of new council houses. Businesses demanding immigration as it's good for business, businesses donate to the parties.

  3.  @robertblucher5780  The folks who bought their council houses probably started to vote Tory as they sold them the house. Landlords, property and many businesses are subsidised by in-work benefits and tax credits. Get rid of those and rents and prices would have to come down. That won't happen though. Charge the landlords with a tax rise like workers got on the recent NI increase. Didn't happen. The older generations generally vote Tory or for a party that keeps house prices high. They're not going to risk losing votes by doing something about it.
