  1. House prices are artificially high due to tax credits etc. If people can't afford rent, landlords will have to reduce it so a natural balance occurs. This will not be allowed to happen as the economy relies on artificially high house prices or low wages. Free market economics are needed.

  2. He's just trying to find a policy that looks like Thatcher would do it. The poor lad has nothing else to privatise as its all been done.
