  6.  @SocraticMutt  I admire the patience you show and fully support the idea of change through education. Once I have exhausted all of those avenues, or the first 5 minutes, the gloves fall off. At a point, which most here passed some time ago, you will only connect through a brutal approach IMHO. The best way? We all do a bit of each or the bit we do well. As for the fun? Why not. We are not paid to be here so all good IMHO.

I doubt very much that we influence very many of those that we spar with, but, it is the occasional or new viewer in the threads that we may reach without ever knowing. Someone who see's a different view for the first time, from one of us duelling with a regular. A young person who has grown up with Fox on the TV who has a narrow political view thus far. I first started here to learn more. It has been an eye opener, and occasionally funny. My view? I am a sorta medic, a non combatant, that looks after the wounded good folk, like yourself and others, in the battlefield. But whilst attending to those in need, bayonetting the MAGA wounded and stripping the bodies seems fair? 😁

Projection is a psychological phenomenon where feelings directed towards the self are displaced towards other people. Psychoanalysts regard projection as a defence mechanism of alterity concerning "inside" content mistaken to be coming from the "outside" Other. In psychoanalytic thought, it forms the basis of empathy by projecting personal experiences to understand someone else's subjective world. In its malignant forms, it is a defence mechanism in which the ego defends itself against disowned and highly negative parts of the self by denying their existence in themselves and attributing them to others, breeding misunderstanding and causing untold interpersonal damage. And, if it matters, I currently have real issues with the Biden Administration and it's Foreign Affairs policies of late.
