  1. Describing the Nakba as "the mass expulsion of 700,000 Palestinians during the Arab-Israeli war" is not quite correct. Better would be to say "the permanent displacement of 700,000 Palestinians".

As your "critical-independent thinker" Gideon Levy keeps reminding us, the world's focus is now less and less on the 'Palestinian' cause. It's time that the displaced Arabs were resettled in other countries with full citizenship, so they can get on with their lives. Millions of people have been displaced over the last 100 years due to the founding of new nation states, India-Pakistan being one of the biggest examples. They don't cry #victim today. The funding the Palestinian 'refugees' get by the UN could then go to help others who are in absolute dire straits in war-torn places such as in Yemen, Syria, and Afghanistan. It is futile to continue to live in hope, or with the idea of retaliation against Israel. Palestinians should stop allowing themselves to be used as pawns in the game of Arab Muslim vs Jew, especially in light of the #AbrahamAccords.

He was very negative on the prospects for the displaced Palestinians. Didn't that bother you too? What is your stake in this matter? Where do you currently live?

My NZ grandfather died in the Palestine Campaigns of 1918, defending freedom and democracy against the tyranny and oppression of the Ottoman Caliphate. He is buried in the British Military Cemetery of Ramleh, near Jerusalem. You say "the moral obligation of your state to provide equal rights for all Palestinians living in the homeland or abroad". Where in the Islamic world do non-Muslims (kaffirs) get equal rights? Every country has the right to enforce #RuleOfLaw and to keep its citizens secure. All 'displaced' Palestinians should be resettled in the 99% of surrounding land which is today governed by Arab Muslims, having been liberated from the Ottoman Empire by the British & Allies during WWI. Stop using these people as pawns in the game of Muslim vs Jew.

  6.  @Who.is.kidding.who. : I have always supported Israel's right to exist, just as I have always supported the right of Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Saudi Arabia to exist. I only found out about my grandfather last May during the Gaza war as I was just over the border in Sinai, where I am again today, and I decided to do some research. It has only made this topic more meaningful for me. War is very unpleasant and even more unpleasant when you were on the aggressing side and then lost the battle. Israel is surrounded by hostile Muslim nations so they have to be strong. When 99% of the old Ottoman Empire (excluding Turkey) was given to Arab Muslims, and 20% of Israel is today made up of Arab Muslims, how you can say that the Palestinians of 1948, which included Jews, Muslims, Druze, Christians, etc. were not treated fairly? There are always losers in war but this outcome seems totally reasonable to me, especially as the Jews are the indigenous people of the Holy Land. Let's use some of your reasoning. How many Jewish grandfathers have died at the hands of their neighbours in Arab countries? As for Britain being 'colonialists', the Islamic forces were at one time the biggest invading and occupying power in the known world!!! And who has kept the Palestinians in refugee camps? Why did the Arab League vote to NOT give them citizenship after they fled Israel in 1948 when the Arab nations went to war against Israel? Why does the UN not resettle them somewhere else as they do with all other refugee groups? What is so special about the Palestinians when we know that more than 13 million South Asians also had to relocate when India was partitioned in 1947 to accommodate an Islamic Pakistan? What happened to all of those South Asian 'refugees' and do we still hear them crying 'victim' today? Yes I believe it is primarily about Islam vs Judaism and the Holy Land. Thankfully the Islamic world is losing power today and more nations will probably normalise ties with Israel in the coming months and years. #EndTimes
