Well Palki has remained superficial & on the surface of the issue!! Even if not religious per se, the western society is deeply intertwined with Christian concepts like "there is only one god that is Jesus Christ"! From there come concepts like "you are with us or against us" & "my way or the highway" which are applied religiously by Americans & Europeans!!

Religion per se is basically a western/Christian & Islamic concept!! It has NOTHING to do with native Indian philosophy of Sanatan Dharma or Hinduism!! India must DECOLONIZE & thrive without imported foreign definitions & concepts!! Many Indians & others across the world DO NOT understand the difference between Dharma & Religion!! Indians mostly follow Dharma which is way beyond mere religion!! The Gita too is about Dharma or TRUTH & Light, NOT religion!! Even the supreme court of India & non native religious groups like Christianity or Islam have NOT challenged that FACT!!

One can be an atheist & still be a Hindu!! The Gita, the go to "Hindu" book too talks about Dharma i.e living a truthful life in harmony with all beings & nature in service of Dharma!! Dharma can be loosely translated as righteousness!!
