It would be a bloodbath. Because Fridman is actually quite ignorant about everything except his expertise in computer science. I'm very confident at that. Tucker did a great job not going into details because his belief would be shredded apart. You might not know this, but except in the US and the West, the politicians at other countries are pros on these matters, literal professionals that do complex governing politics and diplomatic work for a living and aren't really bothered with starting wars, selling arms or lying to their own population for a vote. Yes, they might be dictators but they're classy dictators. They're pros because they have to deal with an ignorant and violence gang out West. The difference in class is quite obvious.

But it is representative of the Russian city, you can compared to every single city in the US and it still looks better, crimes are less and it's cleaner. People compare city by city for a reason, buddy. If you hate it, you can use Saint Petersburg as comparion, or Singapore, or Tokyo, or Seoul, you'll get the same results.

You can go to Saint Petersburg and the subway still looks just as nice, or you can go to Tokyo, Singapore, or South Korea. The subway still looks better than in New York. Which includes multiple gigantic landmasses of indigenous people living there as Autonomous Republics and have their economic struggles due to differing environments and traditions. Buddy. China is a country, France is a country, Vietnam is a country, Japan is a country. Ukraine is not a country. You literally never existed independently throughout 1000 years of history or so, and there's no distinctive culture. Poland and Hungary has better claim to the lands you're living on than you. And again, you're just clueless about rural development. The rural area of Russia that lives at temperature below -30 Celsius all year round that requires development is larger than France and Germany combined. Developing those areas are about 10 times harder compared to rural America. Stop playing games on easy mode and then claim achievements. You have to compare cities because that's always the heart of the civilization, relatively small area yet gigantic economic activities. It's where the playing fields are leveled.

@rafalef Again, that's not how median household income works, because the store he went to is in Moscow and the median groceries prices varies by region. Like I said, go grab a map, pal. The rural areas in Russia are the size of France + Germany. You can't take the price of Moscow as the median price of every other place. You can take the Moscow median household income excluding the top 1% and compare it to say New York median household income excluding the top 1%, you'll get roughly the same numbers.

The rural areas of Russia is nearly 1.5 times bigger than the rural areas of America and a lot colder. It's harder to developed. But the cities, that's where you compare the current state and trend of development and economics. Is this too complicated for you to understand? At the end of the Roman Empire, I'm sure that the rural regions of Rome was more developed than the "gallic" rural regions, but their army and cities were not. The downgoing trend is inevitable and is happening. Please go study basic economics. People compare cities because cities are representative of the might of a country. Is Moscow in a more developed status than New York? Yes. Why? Because it's better governing and maintenance and better use of national funding. Is rural area of Russia less developed than rural areas of the US? Yes. Why? Because it's nearly twice as big, nearly twice as cold and has little economic values there for now. You're comparing stuff without knowing what you're comparing.

Of course the US pattern is a bit less visible considering you spent decades developing your country in the most inefficient imaginable where you have a lot of people spread out all over the place. So instead of having some places really developed and high end, you have everywhere roughly the same average of mediocrity. And if you have to live at those temperatures in Russia in a really less developed place, your life expectancy will be just as slow. The South Koreans have a higher life expectancy than both Americans and the Canadians. Are you going to badmouth them as well? You don't have to Russia as a comparison, you can take Japan, South Korea, Singapore, even Taiwan. Ouch

Developing that gigantic of an area at that extreme climate is 10 times harder than developing rural areas in France. Or America. If your logic is that your country is superior in every way, shouldn't your cities be superior too? The cities are where the playing fields are leveled. A hostile government formed after a coup literally outlawed the Russian language. Who gave them such a right? You think the war started in 2022? We have France and Germany assuring a treaty to end the war that started in 2014 in 2019.

How about right after that coup, multiple laws were passed to strip the Russian language as the official language of multiple regions? Such as the February 2017 ban of Russian books import? Buddy, we have France and Germany sponsoring a treaty stating that there is a civil war.

Which means that the people of Kievan Rus and the people of Russia are the same people, ruled by the same "royal line" and "royal family". Speak roughly the same language, because otherwise why would the ruling family of Kievan Rus created an entirely new language for their new kingdom? So congrats, you just admitted that you are Russians. Because Russians is the name used to called the successor of Kievan Rus. And Communist Regime is not Russia, Russia existed long before communism and it will exist long after communism is gone. However we do provide higher level of safety and litteracy than the people in the West. "Freedom" is not the purpose of government, you gotta get off that crack. Prosperity via stable and safe living environment and economic activity, that's the purpose of government, according to like 90% of global population it is.
