  1. That first bolt reminded me of some repairs I did that involved a file to create clean faces that a socket or wrench would actually grab instead of the nearly 1/16-inch layer of crumbling rust.   2. Regarding the caller saying that they are or may be recording you, that is a legal requirement in 12 (maybe 16?) US states for there to be explicit notification. Florida is one of the states requiring consent from all parties being recorded. Once they TELL you that recording is or may be happening, you continuing with the conversation is treated, legally, as consent. - I also live in an all-party consent state, and I appreciate the clarity the law requires. - Oh, law enforcement can record you without your consent if they have a wiretapping warrant to do so.
