Maybe when you have learnt your engineering and taken (and passed) your exams, you will come to the realisation that the pulley system is and ancient but extant and still very relevant piece of kit. To name but few; sailboats still use them, cranes still use them, aircraft still use them, motorcycles/cars/ships/submarines etc still use the pulley system. If you don’t see my point, you may as well utilise that cliff. BTW, use a pulley system, (not designed by you) and you can pull(ey) yourself into several pieces as you fall. (You yet learned acceleration due to gravity?)
