@AQuietNight Are American workers willing to work for the same low wages as Chinese workers? If not, then the cost of Made-in-US goods will be higher than Made-in-China goods. Combined with inflation and the rising cost of fuel and food in the U.S, those Made-in-US goods are going to have a harder time finding buyers than Made-in-China goods. And if American products can last 60-80 years, then how are the American companies going to make money?
The fact remains that there's always a demand for Chinese goods, so even if U.S somehow decouples from China, China can still export our products to developing economies like in South America, Africa, Middle East, ASEAN countries, etc. But if the U.S stops importing from China, then they would lack access to affordable goods, making the cost of living in the U.S much higher.

@richardpluim4426 Chinese are perhaps among the most intelligent and diligent peoples of the world, willing to work hard in blue collar jobs such as laborers (coolies), rickshaw riders, farmers, grocers, laundromat workers, chefs (of Chinese restaurants) massage parlor, nail salons, etc. Parents save money and send kids to school, encouraging good grades and their kids graduate to take on white collar jobs like doctors, lawyers, engineers, scientists, computer experts, bankers, researchers.
There is literally no job too low or too high for Chinese.

@fireturkeyfly11 "For years, those countries that lay claim on the island built a small scale military base,"
So you admit that those countries/regions were militarizing the South China Sea Islands earlier than China? Then why is it that the U.S did not go after those other countries, instead it goes after China? Also, China does not occupy the majority of South China Sea Islands, we only have 12, compared to Vietnam occupying 21 islands, yet you're painting China as the bully here?
You said: "At most is to fend off pirates."
Likewise, China is fending off pirates in the South China Sea by building bases there, how is this different from other claimants to the SCS?
You said: "When the big bully China comes it, it kicks out those small fries, especially Philippine."
The Philippines ran aground a ship (BRP Sierra Madre) onto a South China Sea Island claimed by China, in order to stake Manila's claim to those territory. China offered to help repair the ship to send it on its way, but the Philippines refused, because they want to claim the island for themselves. Yet you're painting China as the bully here?
You said: "At the end, China states clearly CCP will not militarise the region."
China only made the promise to Obama Adminstration if they would stop sending warships to the SCS. But the U.S did not honor their promise, so China is no longer under obligation to honor ours.

@fireturkeyfly11 In 1947, China published the claim to the South China Sea Islands and back then, nobody objected to China's claim, not even Vietnam. In 1958, the North Vietnam PM Pham van Dong had formally acknowledged that the Spratly and Paracel Islands were historically Chinese, in a diplomatic note he wrote to Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai. The diplomatic note was written on September 14 and was publicized on Nhan Dan newspaper(Vietnam) on September 22, 1958.
In 1958, the People's Republic of China issued a declaration defining its territorial waters which encompassed the Spratly and Paracel Islands. North Vietnam's prime minister, Pham Van Dong, sent a diplomatic note to Zhou Enlai, stating that "The Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam respects this decision."

Yet when it was later discovered that the region contained rich reserves of natural resources, Vietnam suddenly changed their mind and started claiming the South China Seas Islands for itself. Vietnam even began construction of its airstrip on Spratly Island in 1976, making this the first runway in the Spratly island group, as well as building barracks and gun emplacements on those islands.
