@SuperSonic-zz8dx Western anti-China MSM like CNN or BBC don't want China's digital Renminbi to take flight. They might churn out propaganda like claiming how the communist party is monitoring your digital RMB transactions or something to that effect. But the Chinese bank has already laid down 3 mandates about building a digital currency, one of which is that digital currency has to have some version of anonymity or privacy built into the currency.

Instead of making war, China is building infrastructure like roads, railways, highways, bridges, tunnels, powerstations, dams, ports, airports, etc and investing in developing countries like Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and also African countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Chad, Sudan, Ghana, Mozambique, Tanzania, etc. Whereas the United States is warmonger being involved in Gulf War, Iraq War, Afghan War, Libyan War, Syrian War, Yemen War, etc, even in the 21st century. USA is bombing in those Middle Eastern countries and enacting regime change by cutting off their "heads" (Saddam Hussein, Muammar Gaddafi, etc) and then installing their own US puppet governments in place. The advantage of China's digital Yuan is that short term visitors to China get to enjoy the convenience of using WeChat Pay/Alipay, all without the requirement of setting up a Chinese bank account first. Hopefully it will draw more international tourists to China and allow them to enjoy the convenience of mobile payment in China.

@bhl3840 My foreign friends told me that if they want the convenience of WeChat mobile payments, they need to set up a Chinese bank account first and link WeChat wallet to that account. Otherwise, no foreigner can use WeChat without a Chinese bank account. But with the digital Renminbi, it's just a digitalised version of Chinese Yuan, and can be accepted by WeChat wallet for mobile payments, so foreigners can use it without the need the prior to set up a Chinese bank account. @nickl5658 Agreed. Inside China, the digital RMB benefits foreigners living in China that don't want to set up a Chinese bank account, yet enjoy the convenience of WeChat/Alipay. Outside China, the digital RMB allows countries (especially Belt and Road Initiative countries) to purchase Chinese goods without the need to be physically present in China. It benefits any RMB transactions both inside and outside of China.

@bhl3840 Just remember, since you can covert Dollar to RMB normally, then the digital RMB is merely a digitalised version of the RMB and you should be able to covert USD to DRMB.

@tedchandran If your smartphone is lost, stolen or broken, but your WeChat Wallet account is still accessible, then you can still access your digital Renminbi after installing WeChat on a new phone and accessing your WeChat Wallet account. If you lost your card contain digital Renminbi, then the money is lost, just like real money in a wallet when you lose it.

@namelesssnitchy The way the USA keeps on weaponizing the US Dollar and slapping sanctions on Iran, Russia, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, etc, the digital Yuan is going seem more and more like an attractive option as an alternative currency for countries.

@poseidon61 Yes, that's what many visitors to China told me too about WeChat Pay requiring setting up of a Chinese bank account. No Internet is necessary for digital Renminbi transaction too, so tourists don't even need to buy a mobile data plan in China to use digital RMB.

During the 19th century, the British wanted to continue drinking Chinese tea, but China did not want anything the West had to offer, so Britain waged two bloody wars with China and forced Chinese to buy opium from them at gunpoint, which we didn't want because it made us sick and was poisoning our people. During this weak period of Chinese history, Hong Kong was taken from China and made into British colony, to act as a drug distribution hub to spread the addiction throughout rest of China. Even when Britain renounced ownership over its former territories, Hong Kong was not fully returned back to China, and China had to agree to Sino-British declaration just for Britain to handover what belongs to us.

@kswong8270 China also signed a "No-First-Use" policy regarding nuclear weapons, meaning that China will not preemptively launch a nuclear assault against any country, unless we are ourselves attacked with nukes first. But the USA hasn't signed the "No-First-Use" policy, so if there's to be a nuclear war, China won't be the one starting it.

Akimbo Soulassassin Western society was literally built upon the backs of African slavery, causing genocide of Native Americans and Australian Aboriginals, occupation of their lands even till today, brutal colonisation of Asia (India, Hong Kong, Singapore) and African countries and plundering of resources like gold. Westerners today are rich, because they're sitting on a pile of wealth and land that their ancestors took from Asia, Africa, America, Australia, etc. Thr current world order still continues to favor the Western developed countries at the expense of developing countries and China's rise would help bring balance to the disparity between the minority developed countries and the majority developing countries.

@jonlim3963 Yes, if what Richard said in the interview was correct, the "cash card" containing digital Renminbi, available to elderly people in China (who don't use Internet or WeChat) should be available to foreigners as well. If the card runs low on funds, then you can simply top it up at any ATM (once fully implemented). And you get to enjoy the convenience of using WeChat/Alipay to pay for purchases, without the hassle of setting up WeChat Pay account. No need for Internet connection too, for those visitors who don't want to sign up for a mobile data plan while in China for a few days only.

Akimbo Soulassassin The current World Order made by Westerners has problems like disproportionately favoring the developed Western countries and not the developing countries in South America, Africa and South East Asia. Developed countries make up only 17% of the world's population and the majority the world's population are actually living in developing countries. China's status as a developing country country would provide much needed balance in a world dominated by developed countries.

Nobody said USA has to be on top all the time, if China can potentially surpass the USA some day in the future, then we should work towards it. I mean, the 19th century belonged to Britain as a colonial superpower. But during the 20th century, Britain was eventually overtaken by the USA after WWII, as the global superpower. Who knows, the 21st century might belong to China.
