  1. Apple aquired FingerWorks which was the real innovation behind the iPhone interface, which carried to the iPod and iPad. The iPhone was not the first touchscreen cellphone either... it was part of a long series of progressions in mobile technology. Of course NONE of the innovations for cell phones today using, RF, GPS, and internet, and touch would be possible without the contributions of NASA, US Military, and the many grants to universities for research. In other words..... GOVERNMENT.
