LOL This guy is trying to blame Vegas's problem on unions? I hate to break it to him but Vegas has *issues* and it has nothing to do with unions... These guy's have been sold a line of "freemarket" and basicaly get led like sheep into following policies that only serve to line the pockets of fat cats. "Freemarket" has NEVER existed in this country or ANY industrialized country for that matter. To believe freemarket is the magic fix to all problems is to believe in fairies and unicorns.

@megagagnon1 Right... so then become a teacher then. No? Maybe it's because your whole idea of what teachers do and get paid is based on nothing but opinion and assumption, not actual *teachers* Just ignore the studies that have looked at public vs private pay in DEPTH based on age/experience/education (instead of simple averages and assumptions) and show that they are NOT getting a better overall deal. But hey.... as long as the pundits say "union = bad" then facts don't matter right?

@megagagnon1 Clearly you don't know any school teachers... Nor do you have any clue how hard it is to put together a class and deal with minors. It's a shame that you've allowed yourself to feed into the propoganda making our teachers look like they are the scum of the earth. When in fact they are hard working individuals just like everyone else. Google "myths about teacher salaries" People don't go into teaching for the money and benefits. They go into private sector jobs for that.

@megagagnon1 Right... it's all the "teacher's" fault. When adjusted for experience, education, etc. public and private sector jobs pay virtually the same (in fact public sector jobs pay slightly less) Propoganda really works.... They even have citizens fighting against each other, while those that actually caused the economic collapse get away unscathed. They even get bonuses and their tax cuts extended. It's good to be part of the "artificial aristocracy"

@megagagnon1 That's because your numbers are wrong and inflated. You're comparing the salary + benefits of a teacher who's been in the system for well over a decade. Most teachers start out with the same salary as an assistant manager at McDonalds, despite having FAR more education. Grading, perparing for classes, etc. takes twice the time a teacher actually "spends in class". The sad reality is our overworked teachers are currently being demonized for a political agenda, nothing else.
