It was also strongly rumoured a number of years ago that a former chief fire officer of Merseyside Fire Brigade was a "Walt".... with NI & South Atlantic medals on his chest that according to many ex servicemen in the FB he had not qualified for.

My own father being a "HO" (hostilities Only) conscript into the Royal Navy for 6 years from the start to the end of WW2, witnessed the sinking of Bismarck, narrowly survived the sinking of his own ship HMS Dorsetshire in the Indian ocean in April 1942, was then miraculously rescued after having clung to wreckage for 36 hours hundreds of miles from land, before finally having his hearing permanently damaged by the "Fritz X" strike on HMS Warspite at Salerno in Sept 1943, (and even then he wasn't "invalided out" but served a further two years largely aboard a submarine tender HMS Adamant in fremantle Western Australia), received the 1939-45 star, Atlantic Star, Italy star, Burma star, War medal and defence medal, as well as a pittance of an enhancement to his state pension for a "war injury" but only after he had paid his national insurance every month for 40 years. Politicians, they jingoistically cling to the military for their own purposes, then shit all over the survivors who saved their political skins, they ALWAYS have done, and ALWAYS will do.... (though surprisingly after the Dardanelles in WW1 Churchill did honourably serve pennance for his involvement in that fiasco). I'd rather eat dog excrement that have to shake hands with most politicians, and ESPECIALLY the corporate globalist puppets that have now taken over the Houses of Parliament.

A carefully nurtured perception of Churchill during the war, he was OFTEN heckled and jeered by mass crowds in Britain during the war, though strangely most of that footage has "gone missing".

@terencephillips6833 Don't get me wrong Terrence, I'm not some half witted lefty dupe. I've got anormous respect for Churchill and the achievements of my country, the UK. BUT I'm old enough and wise enough to know that our idols more often than not have feet of clay.

The thing that did SLIGHTLY seperate Churchill from almost all other politicians is that he DID serve for many years on the front line. Then after his involvement with the Dardanelles catastrophe (as first sea lord of the Admiralty) in WW1 he resigned from the British govt and had himself sent to France for 6 months front line service as a self imposed pennance.
