  6. Why would it "need days or weeks" to bring it up to the surface? If the sub is found and IF they can get a tether onto it, it can be brought up straight away. It is a submarine the internal air pressure is at around the same as surface air pressure. It is NOT a diving suit. There is NO need for crew decompression.
