I believe the more rationale 'American propaganda' thing was caused by the fact that it appeared in America? By a guy in Western hands? I mean, you are facing death row, but you say a few lies about some dead people (proper dead or soon to be dead anyway) and get out. What would be the problem?

@Edax_Royeaux that is a lot of lies. France and England were busy killing people in their colonies, Italy was fighting a constant warfare trying to gain colonies in Africa. Japan was invading East Asia, going to war with China and USSR. And the Spanish Civil War clearly showed Hitlers and Germanys military intentions and potential. The truth is ultra-nationalists (fascists, nazis etc) were gaining ground in Europe and the West had their fair share of sympathisers, thinking they could use this current to oppose communism, so they were all too happy to adhere to the German cause. Why do you think the German Republic faced such oposition and humiliation from France and England, but Hitler was all cozy with them ?

Practically speaking, WW2 did not start with the invasion of Poland. WW2 started when Hitler annexed Austria and Czechoslovakia. The invasion of Poland was picked at the Nurnberg trials because UK, France and Poland agreed/supported Hitler in those campaigns. Saying those events triggered WW2 would mean that UK and France would fall as accomplices to Hitler, pretty much like revisionists try to put the blame on USSR as well. A false statement from an SS officer to get a scapegoat frankly has no importance. The trials were just for show and turn a new page in history, that's all. Many nazis escaped to the West and served in developing western projects and military doctrines, building their wealth and fame once again.

@AFGuidesHD I believe Vietnam was French, not British. Cuba was Spanish and then American. Panama was French (they were the ones that started building the Canal fun fact, they also built the Suez Canal) Also, I am no apologetic. As said, Britain supported Hitler in his actions against Austria and Czechoslovakia and the only reason why the invasion of Poland was chosen as 'starting point of WW2' was to absolve UK and France from the guilt

You would be surprised who wanted to take action, but was shut down by France and Poland
