Welcome, brother! ;-) Try some mods, google how to tweak game settings using config files - it's not as hard as people think it is! xD

You don't have to ;-)

Most roles. Most ;-)

@ParallelUniversity True! "You need a 2000$ PC" is overrated! You would like to have but you don't have to ;-) If you could find Intel i7 4790k for your old PC - you may buy it! It would cost like... let's see... 125$ A RTX 2060 would be a good upgrade for a GTX 970. But you already have a new PC so you wouldn't need those upgrades ;-)
2
Look at GOG ;-)
2
You are doing something wrong then ;-) Are yopu playing some competitive inline games or what?
2
There are other games besides AAA "cinematic games" ;-)
2
I build my PC back in 2015 for 1800$ Will update it in 2025 ;-)
2
True! People value simplicity and convenience above ANYTHING else! ;-)
1
So you are basically talking about AA and iundie games now. They do exist ;-)
1
@Ju-Peter667 "imagine playing this now when its a dead game compared to when everyone was playing it" - it's a single player game! Why should I care about how many people are playing it now? xD
1
PC gamer here: consoles are very far from dying ;-)
1
*Baldur's Gate 3
1
invest in hardware -> more expensive consoles -> less reasons to buy a console
1
@matthewparker7909 You don't have to do ANY of those things ;-)
1
Indie games and AA games are still a thing ;-) Some of them are great! And cost 10-20$
1
@mablesfatalfable6021 True! But they are fun - that couldn't be said about every game ;-)
1
Steam Deck ;-)
1
If you want PS5-like performance - you would NOT need a 3000$ PC ;-)
1
Check out some AA and indie gems ;-)
1
Fair point!
1
"The Sony version of Star Wars the Force Unleashed was the best" - how was it better that PC version? ;-)
1
"Just make good games and make em 40 $" that's what AA game developers do ;-)
1
In the makings ;-)
1
GOG is still a thing and not going anywhere ;-)
1
Why not Steam Deck tho? ;-)
1
Studious get paid for exclusivity! Yes - SONY actually pays them so they would stay on their platform ;-)
1
Why not buy a Steam Deck then? ;-) 1. All Steam library 2. Travel and play even easier! With mods and all PC goodies xD
1
@ONi_Smoke Fair points! It's more like a Switch alternative
1
GOG is still a thing ;-)
1
Just google "500$ budget PC" and you will get something like PS4 PRO level of performance ;-)
1
How many years ago? What was the inflation for all those years? ;-)
1
That's your choice!
1
Search for some indie gems ;-)
1
Just google "500$ budget gaming PC". It's more powerful than you think it is. No "addons" required ;-)
1
Decent PCs start with 500-600$ tho ;-) Just google that if you don't believe me
1
GOG ;-)
1
And you don't want it yet? ;-)
1
Computers are literally for everything ;-)
1
Just google "500$ budget gaming PC". It's more powerful than you think it is ;-)
1
For what reason? To play old games? Why not use emulators that support higher resolution and even mods?
1
Fine for me ;-) I will enjoy it after a year or two. With mods and better graphics.
1
@DailyGamingPS5 It's not THAT scary ;-) System requirements raise very slowly (16 Gb of RAM are the norm for like 6 years or so). So don't believe those rumors that say that you have to upgrade your PC every few years. If you want to play 4k@144 FPS every game - yes, you should upgrade every two years. In all other situations - no. You will be fine with 5 years old PC ;-)
1
You don't need to do that at all - google "500$ budget gaming PC". It's much more powerful that you think it is ;-)
1
"Yeah but I don’t want to have to spend thousands of dollars plus upkeep to play a game": * You could build a pretty decent PC for 600$. Just google that ;-) * What upkeep? "onsole gamers don’t want to game on a PC. That’s just fact." - that's 100% true! They would give some very strange reasons because they were getting used to playing on a console and PC's are just scary xD
1
"I can't wait when something happened to PC" - you DO know how games are created, right? ;-)
1
It's fine - I already ignore AAA games in their first year after release ;-)
1
"I have to spend 2k - 3k for a pc to play the game" - no you don't ;-) Just google "500$ budget gaming PC" and you will get PS4 PRO level of performance.
1
Simple. But unnecessary ;-)
1
Yep!
1
Fair point! Exclusivity is bad in all forms!
1
Google "500$ budget gaming PC" and be surprised ;-)
1
One simple word - GOG ;-)
1
You could buy a decent PC for 500-600$. It will be pretty close to a modern console. Just google "500$ budget gaming PC" and have fun ;-)
1
PC gamer here. A few corrections: * Console: price 500$ + 90$ per year. Games cost 5-70$ (you could buy very cheap in some physical stores). * PC: price 500-5000$ (depends on how much you would want to spend). Games cost the same 5-70$. You just need to install Steam. You could disable Windows Autooupdates. Your PC would not overheat if it has good cooling system (and no - it doesn't cost much more!). So it's a skill issue ;-)
1
Welcome!
1
It's a Command Prompt of a PowerShell window where you can interact with your system using commands ;-)
1
Most games are playable on Steam OS right now ;-)
1
He plays games and makes money on the same platform. That is kinda smart tho ;-)
