Yes, civilizations rise and fall. But the real impact of that isn't really felt when we hear that.
Imagine if your currency is not stable, or if courts only had 10 years left to remain reasonably just, then plunge into total bribery and corruption, or if grocery stores couldn't get enough food and a loaf of bread cost 10 dollars, or a your cryptocurrency's lifespan is 1.5 years.
THAT's what it means that civilizations rise and fall.
Our institutions (aka social infrastructure) are UNSTABLE. we can't take things for granted, and establishing them again will cost a lot of bloodshed, pain, struggle, poverty, and clinging to something to keep ourselves from giving up, going insane, or just suiciding.
