I'm in Iowa, we have a pantry for what we can ourselves, AND a cellar for potatoes and onions, AND freezers. I'm super WACIST, and proud of it. Actually I'm just old fashioned / traditional / logical.

Actually I'm just old fashioned / traditional / logical. We do the same as you. Buy up when there's a sale, and grow our own. Sometimes we get on offer on half a cow or deer, so freezers.

@patriciacooper1308 Fascinating! I've never lived off grid, but have been, sort of still am somewhat close. Not to be political, but just a fact, Biden's war on oil may have a lot of people off grid whether they wanna be or not. Some of us are better prepared to manage it than others. A snowflake internet influencer / gamer will be a laugh to watch!

@patriciacooper1308 One thing is sure, we've got good natural food. Sorry about that freezer! My first canning event failed - my sister told it's safer to can chili or soup without the meat, and add the meat when serving. She's usually accurate..... She grew up with the grandparents on the dairy farm, I grew up in Des Moines, we spent weekends together, but I have some catching up to do. She still raises red angus, but lives in town.
