Me and my sister climbed trees, got yelled at for being mulberry juice stained, rode the horse, got thrown off the horse, snuck cigarettes (that was just me), played with slot cars, rode our bikes to the library, went swimming, got cuts scrapes and bruises, and never had a moment of anxiety of depression until we were adults... :-)

@pierre1050 150 years ago (yes, I'm a steampunk era fan) almost nothing was banned. Governments make laws and ban things when they must because too many people can't handle certain freedoms. For example, coca and opium was once available from the corner drug store (see Sherlock Holmes 7% solution). Gambling was not controlled at all. I could go on. As a career artist, I'd rather not see anything banned or censored. But I'd also rather NOT hear about anxiety / depression every time I watch a video gameplay with chat. Rising teen suicides. People whining about what all they never have time to do while wasting life on the web whining about it. My observations (from many sources and angles) show people are seriously addicted to the web, it's ruining their lives, and our world along with. I'm hoping people evolve to knowing why an OFF button, or simply not having something damaging them, is valuable. We got on fine for 5000 years without the web. Now too many get loose bowels when the thing goes down for 20 minutes. And that's just weird.

These are not MY end days, and I'm not alone. My web is for morning news, background music or how-tos or game plays while I'm working since I unplugged my insurance commercial home delivery system (cable TV) two years ago - I'm old and my web replaces my radio, a thing that is now all samo 5 times a day programmed from Califukusall. I still LIVE and it sounds like you do too :-) But the bigger contributor is drugs.

Mis-info, dis-info, outright lies, foreign enemy influencers, kids goofing on people, wiki pages now totally unreliable (said by the founder of the thing himself, with great sadness), could be easily solved with a simple license like CB and HAM radio operators must have. Ban the multiple accounts, liars and gutter mouths. As for the addiction of kids AND adults, no one can stop that, and the government has certainly proved to be a dull tool, reference Prohibition. Hilton is trying to educate, get people to see their lives swirling down the drain, and willfully turn the web OFF now and then. I wish him luck, and said a few things to help. But I have little faith in it, we all know how the 20 years of "Just say NO to drugs." turned out - so the fed banned opioids. For the web, we will probably see the rates taxed to where we MUST turn it off or starve, which will be rude for me, but I can handle it.
