  1. Pickles doesn't obviously know that Ukraine has laws to ban the public use of minority languages, specifically in majority-Hungarian areas AND Russian in the east of the country. That was the casus belli for Putin to attack.

  2. China is already sending Russia ammunition clandestinely through northern China/Mongolia. They are firmly on the one side, there is no legitimacy to their 'offer' of a peace plan.
