@supertrooper6011 Unfortunately you're wrong about crypto. Sure, the transactions are anonymous but the current is let down at the moment that the owner seeks to convert BTC into hard fiat currency. That typically requires the use of a credit card company (operated by a bank - either Mastercard or Visa) to interface with the online BTC wallet service. If the government or the banks themselves decide to block the use of their credit cards to convert BTC into hard currency (in the form of a credit to the credit card - this has been my prior experience) then the owner cannot actually realize any of their crypto holdings.

This is 'technically' the first use of this Emergencies Act in Canada but that's not the real story. The current act was passed in 1988 and YES, it has never been used up until today. The previous Act which was called the War Measures Act was used by Trudeau's father in 1970 when FLQ Quebec Francophone separatists had planted bombs in Montreal and kidnapped the UK trade representative from his home before eventually murdering him. The Act authorized the Canadian Armed Forces to be deployed onto city streets to maintain order and free up local Montreal police to undertake searches for additional bombs which had been planted at various symbolic locations (Montreal Stock Exchange for one) and also to investigate the kidnapping of the UK diplomat.

He's a Liberal. They are untouchable in the media and in the Canadian courts. The system is rigged.

@displacedaussie4546 There are ZERO electronic voting machines in Canada. Everything is paper and pencil. YOU ARE WRONG.

@SensiIaMi I'm glad you brought up the use of credit card/debit card in the process of converting BTC into local fiat currency. That is currently where the system has it's flaw. As you said, you can use a foreign card to receive the funds but 99% of people do not have access to a foreign card. It would require traveling to another country, renting a flat in order to establish a place of domicile, and the going to a local bank and opening an account. Most people are not going to do this, not able to do this just for the sake of avoiding possible government interference. And if the government in question petitions the major credit/debit processors Mastercard/Maestro and Visa to block transfers/deposits from BTC platforms then the money can never physically reach the owner.

The government didn't flee because Putin sent troops to quell the riots.
