Is it possible that part of the reasoning behind this “dynamic zero Covid” policy is that the vaccines are not mandatory in China? It is believed that many elderly refuse to take the vaccine, so this “dynamic zero Covid” policy results in part from a specific response to the cultural reluctance to be vaccinated? I fully recognize that the Chinese vaccines are based on established vaccine technologies, unlike the experimental gene mRNA drugs used in thE US and which China, correctly imho, does not permit in China.
