***** I could see it working well as a scout rifle/DMR with the sight mounted forward of the action. mabey modified to except higher power loadings. (if I recall there is a cartrage that's basically a 30-06 but hotloaded to a whole nother level 300 win mag mabey? correct me if im wrong) that being said I could see it working pretty well especaly considering how with the modern M14 DMR variants there is the problem of the magazine preventing the shooter from getting flat to the ground. a enblock fed rifle wouldent have that problem and would allow for better prone fireing. so it could be entirely possible that the M14 could fit a squad role (where stealth and laying flat don't really matter) and the modified M1 could serve as a long range scouting rifle

I don't think its humanly possable

Tounushi I would say that as a genetic Latvian I must put a complament twords the russain Winchester (it was our service rifle for a while we bought it from the russains) now with that being said. M1s are just such a ridiculous amount of fun! my only problem is how much the ammo costs. CMP doesent sell there surplus to cheep

Walt Lars the russains have actualy developed a 9x39 cartrage and use it for subsonic suppressed rifles ( basicly they load a standard 7.62x39 charge then put a obscenely heavy bullet ontop) from what I have read the ballistics are rather devistateing

Walt Lars they have super sonic loads aswell. generaly the gunner would be issued one the other or both depending on the mission and role of the gunner. a squad marksman would probably be issued a supersonic AP ammo (though the guns are intagraly suppressed so theres still some positive effect on sound albeit minimal) while a scout would probably be issued mostly subsonic with AP for backup. on another note all these rounds have hardend steel cores and are designed to be armor pierceing.
